Meditation is something that most of us find really difficult to do. It can be uncomfortable, stressful, confronting, or maybe even feel like a waste of time, but it is actually a great way to calm the mind, nourish the soul, and give yourself a little time all by yourself. That in and of itself is crucial to self love! How can you love yourself if you don’t even know yourself? This technique is called a traveling meditation. Essentially you will follow your mind wherever it wants to go and continue to visualize yourself meditating. So if you know you need to do your laundry and that pops into your head, you will allow yourself to go to your laundry room or the laundry mat but you will picture yourself in meditation at that location. Eventually the mind will get tired of fighting against you and will return to the location you are in and the present moment. When that happens, you will feel a great sense of calm.
